Alba al Español: academy par excellence in Murcia

Located in the heart of Málaga, Alba al Español is a long-established teaching centre. We have other schools in Granada (Academia Puerta Real), Córdoba (Academia Cruz Conde) and Málaga (Academia Avenida Andalucía).

Our teachers are highly qualified and experienced, they have proven results and something we value a lot: empathy. They will always try to make you feel at ease, with the aim of enriching your experience and boost your knowledge.

The teachers in Alba al Español are native with a passion for teaching. They count on several years of experience, which help students reach a deep knowledge of the language.

Director

Arturo Bullejos

With over 25 years of experience in providing educational services and leading teams (academic and administrative), he is responsible for organizing everything so that Alba al Español students have the best educational tools to achieve their goals.

He is ready to help make your stay a unique experience and to communicate with you in both Spanish and English.

Our director loves gastronomy, learning about new cultures, and traveling.

Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) Academic Coordinator

Rebeca Ferreiro

With over 7 years of experience coordinating ELE academic teams and programs in Mexico, the USA, and Spain, more than 14 years as an ELE teacher, and 25 years as a professor of language, literature, and film, she is responsible for supporting you in your educational process.

• Bachelor's degree in Hispanic Literature, Master's degree in Communication, and PhD in Political Science (with a focus on Communication).
• Courses and training sessions in team coordination, transformation of our center using the SACIC framework, ELE teaching methodology, use of AI in the ELE classroom, design and adaptation of materials for the ELE classroom, teaching in hybrid models, and pedagogical mediation.
• Teaching experience at CEFR levels A1 to C2, in courses for specific purposes and as a DELE exam preparation instructor in various contexts (immersion, foreign language, heritage speakers, business, and political settings) for children, adolescents, and adults in Mexico, the United States, and Spain. Advisor for university theses in Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) for students in Beijing, China.
• DELE examiner at levels A1 to C2 for adults; levels A2/B1 and B2/C1 for school children.
• Trainer of Spanish as a Foreign Language teachers in the Diploma Program in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language at the University of Guadalajara.
• Experience in the design of Spanish as a Foreign Language educational materials, assessment materials, and programs for teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language and Spanish as a Second Language (from basic to university level) in various countries, as well as the coordination and co-design of the Diploma Program on 20th-Century Mexican Women Writers at the University of Guadalajara Foundation/USA.

Head of Studies for Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE)

Pedro Solano

With over 3 years of teaching experience in Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE), French, and English, he is responsible for welcoming you and supporting you in your daily life at the academy.

• Graduate in Spanish Language and Literature and with a Master's degree in Teacher Training.
• Training sessions in ELE teaching methodology.
• Teaching experience at levels A1 to B2 of the CEFR in different contexts (immersion, as a foreign language) to teenagers in Spain and France.
• DELE examiner for levels A1 and A2 for adults.
• Experience teaching English and French as foreign languages.

Patricia Valdivia

With over 5 years of teaching experience in Spanish as a Foreign Language, she will help you achieve your learning goals in Spanish.

• Graduate in Spanish Language and Literature, with a Master's degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language and a Master's degree in Teacher Training.
• Teaching experience at CEFR levels A1 to B2 in immersion settings for children, teenagers, and adults in Spain.
• Experience teaching Spanish to immigrants.

ELE teacher

Catalina Sánchez

With one year of experience teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language and over 4 years as a language, literature, and history teacher, she will help you achieve your Spanish learning goals.

• Graduate in Spanish Language and Literature, with a Master's degree in Research in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics and a Master's degree in Teacher Training for Secondary Education, Baccalaureate, Vocational Training, and Language Teaching.
• Teaching experience at CEFR levels A1 to B2 in various contexts (immersion, heritage speakers) to children, teenagers, and adults in Spain.
• Teaching experience in Spanish Language and Literature for secondary and high school students.

ELE teacher

Mariana Saavedra

With six months of experience teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language and over four years as a language and literature teacher, she will help you achieve your Spanish learning goals.

• Graduate in Spanish Language and Literature, with a Master's degree in Teacher Training for Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, Vocational Training, Language Teaching, and Arts Education.
• Teaching experience at CEFR levels A1 and A2 in an immersion context for children and teenagers in Spain.
• Teaching experience in creative writing in the USA.

Mariana is ready to communicate with you in Spanish (although you can also speak to her in English).

ELE Administration

Fatma Abdelsalam

Always ready to listen and provide the necessary support, she is responsible for advising you on the conditions of our courses, helping you with your registration process, advising you on document validation and visa applications, as well as providing you with timely information during your stay at the academy.

Fatma is ready to communicate with you in Spanish, Arabic, and English.

ELE Support

Emilio Sánchez

With more than 5 years of experience teaching History to national and international students, he is in charge of organizing extracurricular activities that promote linguistic and cultural exchange. He fosters the full integration of our students into the city of Murcia through scheduled excursions that make life in Spain a fun and meaningful experience.
